Offaly Centre for Independent Living is a lead agency in enabling people with disabilities to live independently and become productive, fully participating members of society.
Our company provides a Personal Assistant to a person with a physical or sensory disability in accordance with the philosophy of Independent Living.
The Offaly Centre for Independent Living believes that every person including those with a disability is capable of making the major decisions that influence their own lives.
The Offaly Centre for Independent Living website is designed to inform people about the history, services, projects and many more things regarding the Offaly Centre for Independent Living, for anyone who may find it useful including people with disabilities and for those who work with them.
We provide advice and act as a consultancy company, which enables people with disabilities to be equal to everyone else in society regarding choice, control, rights and full economic, social and cultural lives.
The Offaly Centre for Independent Living believes in the "Social model of disability", which states that it is society that makes a person with a disability become disabled by the way it treats and excludes people with disabilities whatever their disability is.
We focus on the problems of society by disabling attitudes and barriers that prevent people with disabilities becoming fully involved in society and aim to reduce and remove those barriers.
